Walking is one of the best exercises for weight management and keeping yourself active! Whether you’re trying to lose weight, maintain, or just keeping your health in check during the sweltering summer months, walking is a beneficial addition to your fitness regime. During this time of year, you’ve got ample opportunities to take advantage of the weather and head out to a place with gorgeous surroundings to take a nice peaceful walk! Finding a local school’s track, a lovely park or greenway in your downtown area can turn an hour of exercise into something that you’ll look forward to every day!

If you’re not someone who gets their summers off or to work from home, it can feel like you’re options and opportunities are limited. But, there are actually a large number of people who take short walks throughout their nine-to-five workday to improve their step count! These brief walks during work hours can help people’s moods and also help them handle the stress that can negatively impact your health and productivity. A quick after lunch stroll can also help fight the afternoon slump of enthusiasm and focus!
Make a point to get up a few times each day for a quick stroll. You may even be able to get a group together to get the whole office on board! If you work with a team – even better! Walking together can help create and build team unity by going outside and getting to know one another outside of the office environment. Walking with co-workers has actually been known to help build team chemistry and open more dialogue, something that your team could be lacking. Every employee needs to get out of the workplace to clear their mind, relax and let the ideas flow to them naturally at times.
